"Joy To The World"
This is my favorite time of the year. It evokes dearly held memories of my family and friends all of whom seemed to be a little happier than usual during this season. Our home was Always filled with love, but at Christmas the Love overflowed as did the joy that it brings. As a child, however, my focus was on the presents under the tree.
Christmas morning I felt like a sprinter in the blocks with my hands on line waiting for the starter's pistol to fire, and like a sprinter my brother and I would tear through the gifts with Cheetah like speed. Then, as quickly as it started it was over. The adrenaline would begin to subside and the newness of the gift that was supposed to make me happy forever already began to fade. Now, after the chaos, my family and friends would gather around the table and play games late into the night, where we would laugh until we cried.
I remember only a few of the gifts I received on Christmas all those years ago, but those times
with family and friends I cherish now and forever. Jesus was always
the center of our lives throughout the year, so when we stopped to celebrate
His birthday He always made our time together amazing.
Joy to the World the Lord has come. The greatest gifts have already come; first in
Christ and then in the people He's blessed our lives with. Hug a little tighter this
year and look them in they eye as you tell them you love them. And thank Jesus.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
